Shortville (22 Aug 1918)

Miss Bernice Irish is home from the county farm where she was working.

Hagie’s started threshing last week.

Mr. Rodman is working on the state road through Shortville now instead of Rudolph Frantz.

Hubert Carter answered his country’s call last week, going to Madison, Wis. We wish him good luck.

Jim Short and family visited at Greenwood Sunday.

Mrs. Davis visited in Neillsville a few days the first of the week.

The R.C. sewers will meet this Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Williams and Friday afternoon with Mrs. Jess Wilding.

Raymond Chapman visited his mother, Mrs. Schroeder, last week Tuesday and Wednesday before leaving for training at Indianapolis, Ind.

Willard Gerhardt and family visited at Jess Wilding’s Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bell made a trip to Waupaca Thursday, returning Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. George Bue spent Saturday night and Sunday at Andrew Short’s.

Pat. McGinnis and family passed through here Sunday on their way to Neillsville. They called on relatives.
