Rural Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where the groom operates a dairy farm with his father, is home to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas John Missling. They were married Saturday, Oct. 2 at 2:30 p.m. in the Immanuel United Church of Christ at Greenwood.

Miss Carol Jean Wendt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wendt, rural Owen, exchanged marriage vows with the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Missling before the Rev. Orville Egbert and the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold on the 30th wedding anniversary of her parents.

Pat Phillips sang “Wedding Prayer” and “I’ll Walk Beside You,” and the Rev. Myhrwold sang “The Lord’s Prayer.” Mrs. Leona Albert was organist.

It had a bateau neckline and fitted bodice with the back …(unreadable) with a fabric bow from which flowed a detachable chapel length train…(unreadable) the semi-full skirt. A white satin pillbox held her bouffant veil….(unreadable) and her bouquet was made up of red roses and English ivy centered with three large Fuji chrysanthemums.

Mr. Roger (Gerri) Wathke, Osseo served as matron of honor, with Mrs. Klayton Micke, Owen, and Miss Diane…(unreadable) as bridesmaids. They were dress alike in floor length gowns of Copen blue crepe, having scoop necklines and a Watteau…(unreadable) centered bow at the back waistline. Matching pillboxes held …(unreadable) and yellow roses… (unreadable) with white sunburst chrysanthemums comprised their bouquets.

(unreadable) , Owen, was ring bearers and Jana Graves, New Berlin, was flower girl. Little Jane wore a dress fashioned like that of the bride and her veil was attached to a fabric headpiece. Her bouquet was a miniature replica of the bride’s.

Serving the groom as his attendants were Klayton Micke, Owen, Best man, and roger Wathke, Osseo, and Dennis Wendt, Owen, groomsmen. Gene Himes and Bob Missling ushered.
