Wendt, Anna E. (27 JAN 1878 – 10 DEC 1965)

Monday afternoon funeral services were conducted for Mrs. William Wendt, a pioneer resident of this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), having resided here the past 51 years. Services were held at the Alliance Church, with Rev. Woodring, parish pastor, officiating, with burial being made at the Reseburg Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Axel Lindgren, Harold Frey, C.E. beck, Bob Warden, Joe and Gene Adams.

Mrs. Wendt’s health had been failing in recent weeks and she passed away at her home in the city at 1 a.m. December 10, 1965.

Anna Elizabeth Wendt, nee Rusch, was born Jan. 27, 1878 in Ontario, Canada, having attained the age of 87 years.

She and her husband, the late William Wendt, were united in marriage on June 14, 1899 at Thorp. They made their home on a farm in the town of Reseburg for 15 years before moving to Owen in 1914.

Her husband passed away Sept. 20, 1955.

Surviving Mrs. Wendt are five sons, Harold and Edward Wendt, owen; Charles and Cecil Went, Eau Claire, and Raymond Wendt, Appleton; four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Clara) Buchanan, Curtiss; Mrs. Hugo (Alma) Bicker and Mrs. Arvid (Bernice) Shell, both of Wausau, and Mrs. Morris (Helen) Anderson, Denver, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edward Rusch, Owen; Louis Rusch, Gilman, and Otto Rusch, Chicago.; and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Schroeder and Mrs. Ann Wendt, both of Wis. Rapids, and Mrs. Minnie Anderson, Madison.

One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
