West Eaton (31 Oct 1918)

Jack Farning is in our vicinity threshing for the West Eaton farmers.

We welcome our new mailman, Mr. Drake.

Jason Bostwick and Arthur and Olgo Meinholt went to Owen last week after Theo. Theelin, who lost everything at Coquet in the forest fire.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Bostwick and son, Jason, and Mrs. William Able and son, Eddie, were Gorman and Willard callers Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Farning and son, Clarence, and Elmer Mund took dinner at Bostwick’s Thursday.

Carl Davey has been very low the past week. We all hope for his speedy recovery.

Three more of the Davey children are sick with influenza. This is very bad for Mr. and Mrs. Davey.

Mrs. Podobnik had the misfortune to cut her hand quite badly last week. She was unable to do most of her housework.

The party given Tuesday evening in honor of Arthur Meinholdt was well attended and all report a good time.

Mr. Dimler is doing Mr. Davey’s chores during their sickness.

Joe Christie called at the Bostwick home Friday evening.

Mrs. Borgers is helping care for the sick at the Davey home. Carl has been very low and the rest of the family is sick with influenza.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Bostwick and sons, Jason and Lyle, and George Gemmeke attended the Darrow sale Friday.
