Pleasant Ridge (31 Oct 1918)

The Death Angel came to the Ridge last Wednesday and took away an old friend and neighbor, Mrs. Blackman. We will all miss her for she was always ready to help everybody in sickness and need. The funeral was held from the house Sunday at 1 o’clock and the body laid to rest at the Grant Cemetery, Rev. Coleman officiated.

Mr. Duge came Saturday from Indiana to attend the funeral of Mrs. Blackman.

Emil Worchel is busy cementing his new barn.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dudie are on the sick list.

Jim King had to haul milk Monday. His brother, Will, is not feeling very well.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim King called on George Vine and family Sunday evening.

Miss Lettie Vine has been quite sick for the past week, but is recovering.

Little Ruth Slocomb has been on the sick list for a few days.

Ed. Selves delivered a fine load of hogs to Neillsville Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Baker are nicely settled on the Carter farm with their daughter, Mrs. Salsbury.
