Foss, Martin William (26 June 1886 - 15 December 1973)

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Georgas Funeral Home for Martin William Foss, 87, who died December 15 at his home in Neillsville. Masonic rites were conducted by Milo Mabie and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Martin Foss was born June 26, 1886, in Chicago, Il., and was educated there. His marriage to the former Vera Johnson took place July 7, 1919, in Chicago. He worked in Chicago until his retirement, and came to Neillsville eight years ago. Mr. Foss was a member of Neillsville Lodge No. 163, F&AM, and a Veteran of WWI.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert, of North Brook, Il.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Betty) Schultz of the Town of Weston, Rt. 3, Neillsville; a brother, Harold Foss of Pawpaw, Mi.; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Alfred Kleckner, Jas. Musil, Harold Trewartha, Bradley Larsen, Richard Albrecht and Richard Karl.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foss, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foss, Jr., of Northbrook, Il., and Mr. and Mrs. John R. Wiesneth of Arlington Heights, Il., were among those who attended the services. Members of the Masonic Lodge attended in a body.
