Homer, Arthur F. (5 APR 1938 - 6 AUG 2015)

Arthur F. Homer, died August 6, 2015 at Deerview Meadows Assisted Living, Medford where he had resided for the past 3 months most recently under the care of Hope Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 13 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, with Rev. David Clements officiating.

Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II at a later date. Visitation will be at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Thursday, August 13.

Arthur was born April 5, 1938 at Peoria, IL. He attended Silver Creek Elementary school, Westboro and was a graduate of Westboro High School.

He married Angie Fuerlinger at South Milwaukee, WI and they were later divorced.

After his education he worked at Hurd Millwork in Medford for a period of time. Moved to South Milwaukee and worked as a machinist at B. E. Fabrication for many years until his retirement. He recently moved to Medford to be near family. He enjoyed restoring old cars, stock car racing, camping, traveling, golfing, fishing, bowling, ballroom dancing and singing barber shop quartet.

Arthur is survived by a daughter, Rita Lashley of Cudahy, WI; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister Mary Elliott, Marshfield; a sister-in-law Donna (Bob) Shadrick, Phillips. His is also survived by a special friend Patricia “Pat” Gauger of Mukwonago, WI.

He is predeceased by his parents, James Franklin and Viola Evelyn (Thompson) Homer; a twin brother Ernest in 2009; a nephew Howie Homer in 1986.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to either Hope Hospice of Medford or the Aspirus Dialysis Center, Medford.
