Willner, Mr./Mrs. Lester (Silver – 12 DEC 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Willner of Colby celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday, Dec. 16, 1967, at the VFW Clubhouse from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

They were presented a corsage and a boutonniere of red roses by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rachu, Colby.

Prior to the open house they were guests of honor at a dinner held at the Colby Hotel for the immediate family and near relatives.

An anniversary wedding cake was given to the couple by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rachu.

Cpl. Lester Willner, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Willner, and Margaret Cramer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cramer, were united in marriage at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer Dec. 12, 1942, with Rev. Arthur Stapel officiating at the ceremony.

Their attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Bruesewitz, Unitey, Willard Willner, Shawano, Mrs. Gil (Angeline Cramer) Colrud, Virginia Beach, Va., and flower girl, Mrs. Jim (Kathleen Koehler) Laabs, Bay City, Mich.

Following their wedding the couple lived in Junction City, Kan., where Lester was stationed during his military services. When he was discharged from the service, they lived for a year at Spencer, then for several years at Medford and at Racine for a year.

They moved to Colby 10 years ago and Mr. Willner has operated his service station here since then. He has always been a mechanic.

They are the parents of five children. They are Mrs. Ray (Sharon) Rachu, Colby; Nancy, employed at Marshfield and living at home; Trudy, Lester and James, all attending schools in Colby. They have two grandsons, Ronald and Jeffrey Rachu.

All of the original attendants were able to be at the celebration except Mrs. Colrud. Both of their mothers, Mrs. Louise Cramer, Spencer, and Mrs. Apolonia Willner, Abbotsford, attended. Other guests were from Bay City, Mich., Shawano, Edgar, Owen, Stetsonville, Spencer, Unity, Marshfield and surrounding communities.
