Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carteron and sons were in Eau Claire Sunday.
Mrs. Glen Drew accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beyer of Neillsville to Beloit
Friday, where they spent three days at the home of their brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. William Santos. They were joined there by their sister,
Mrs. Ronald MacArthur and daughter, Sherri, who flew in from Perry, N.Y., to
join the reunion of the four sisters at the Santos home.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Horn, Mrs. Harvey Schwarze, Mrs. Henry Laube, Mrs. Selma
Churkey and Mrs. Mike Bolf have returned from Hillsboro, Ore., where they
attended the funeral of their brother Theodore Franz, March 26.
Romaine Indgjer of Strum and son, Jeffrey, of Eau Claire, spent Tuesday with
their sister and aunt, Mrs. Louise Ellingson.
The Intersee Club met Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Catherine Lindner.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney Wednesday were Mr and Mrs. Anthony Tolaney of
Stevens Point and their daughter, Mrs. John Seileman of Buffalo, N.Y.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Verhulst and children, Janice and Arvin, and his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Verhulst, spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Monte
Haugland, the Lyle Verhulst’s daughter, at Somerset.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nichols and children of Tomah, spent the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Seibold. They celebrated the 16th birthday of their
son, Steven.
The Suffragett club was entertained Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Hazel
Helwig.
Mrs. Edith Stafford entertained the Tuesday afternoon 500 club at her home in
the Black River apartments.
Tuesday dinner guests at the Wilbur Stewart home were her sister, Mrs. Veda
Mertens of Stanley, and her daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Cateva of Owen.
Mr. and Mrs. Viv Carteron spent from Thursday until Monday in Watertown with
their daughters, Mrs. Allison Dittmar and Mrs. Cyril Spangler and their families
and with her sister, Mrs. Eunice Froelich, who recently came from Barrington,
Il., to reside at the Cedarcrest Retirement home in Janesville.
Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Okon of Blanchardville spent Wednesday and Thursday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Erna Wehrman and were Thursday visitors at the Thomas
Erickson home.
Mr. and Mrs. George Schaefer have returned after spending several weeks at Santa
Clara, Calif., with their daughter and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Decker entertained at a birthday dinner Sunday in honor of
her father, Robert Stewart whose birthday occurred March 25. Present were: Mr.
and Mrs. Stewart and children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stewart,
daughters, Shirley and Vicki of Middleton; Dr. and Mrs. Gary Rhode and sons,
Dean and Douglas, of River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stewart and family and the
Donald Decker family of Greenwood and Robert Stewart of Stanley.
Saturday evening dinner guests at the Robert Stewart home were the above group.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zimmer of La Crosse spent Tuesday and Wednesday with her
grandparents, Mrs. Louise Ellingson, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hall.
Mrs. Arnold Halle was transferred to the Marshfield Convalescent Center in
Marshfield, from the hospital, where she was a surgical patient.
The oral examinations of the Senor Confirmands were held during the Sunday
morning worship service at Immanuel United Church, conducted by the Rev.
Pacifico Camarin. Confirmands are Denise Horn, Crystal Horn, Michael Vollrath
and Larry Fravert.
Friday, at 5 a.m. the senior and junior confirmation classes and the pastor went
on a tour of the Twin Cities. Duane Vollrath furnished transportation.
The Wednesday afternoon Bridge Club met at the home of Mrs. Lawrence Cox.
Mrs. James Turnquist entertained the Bridgettes club at her home Thursday
evening.
Neighborhood Canasta Club members were supper guests Friday evening at the home
of Mrs. Henry Vollrath. The meal was followed by cards.
Friday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart were their son,
Robert, of Stanley, and Lawrence Dyrness of Marshfield.
Gerald Jakobi of Milwaukee spent the weekend at the home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Jakobi, and with his sister, Mrs. Roger Liebzeit, and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Friske and daughter, Faye, of Whitehall, spent Sunday at the
home of his brother, Norbert Friske, and family.
The commission on Evangelism met at Immanuel United Church at 2:30 p.m.
Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hagedorn instead of Mr. and Mrs. John Hagedorn, attended the
house warming at the Martin Kirn home in Willard recently.
