Searles, Donna (Marriage - 6 April 1974)

Donna Searles and Vernon Vetterkind were united in marriage during a 3 p.m. double-ring ceremony, Saturday, April 6, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Michael G. Mertens officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. Robert Olsen of Thorp. Miss Betty Bayuk was organist. The girls’ choir sang “Father Eternal” and “One hand, One Heart.”

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klapatauskas, Willard and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Vetterkind, Thorp.

The bride appeared in an empire gown of silk organza over taffeta. She carried a bouquet of blue and white roses and stephanotis.

Diane Klapatauskas, St. Francis, was her maid of honor and Leonard Vetterkind was bestman. Glen Vetterkind served as usher.

A 5 p.m. dinner was served to the immediate family at the home of the bride’s parents. A reception and dance was held at the Willard Hall. Music was furnished by Eddie Haas and La Verne Gregorich.

Mrs. Vetterkind is a graduate of Greenwood High School and her husband attended Thorp High School. Both are employed in Wausau where they will make their home.
