Jensen, Laura Rosezetta (1 July 1923 - 16 January 2016) With Flag

Laura Rosezetta Jensen, 92, of Chilton, formerly of the Town of Lynn and the Town of Mentor in Clark County, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at the Wisconsin Veteran Home in King. She was born July 1, 1923, in Savanna, IL, the daughter of the late Clem and Esther (Plattenberger) Hoy.

Laura proudly served during WWII with the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, or WAVE, in the United States Navy. Following her discharge, Laura married Eddie Jensen June 8, 1946, in the Town of York in Illinois, and the couple operated a dairy farm together. She devoted her life to the raising of her two sons and everything Laura did was for their betterment.

She was a member of the Humbird American Legion Post, was a former member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in New Holstein and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and watching movies on TV. Although she didn’t go frequently as she would have liked, Laura enjoyed the relaxation and solitude of fishing.

Survivors include her children: Jerry (Pat) Jensen of Chilton and Thomas (Marcia) Jensen of Neenah; five grandchildren, Bethany (Michael) Wiskow, Dan (Beth) Jensen, Megan Jensen, Jaime (William) Reese, and Lori (Andrew) Lecker; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother Hal Hoy, of Thomson, IL.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie; two sisters: Mildred Styles and Betty Bailey; and a brother, John Hoy.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at the Lower York Cemetery in Thomson, IL.
