Frese, Bernard John (9 June 1937 - 18 May 2016)

Bernard J. Frese, age 78, of Thorp, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center, in Owen. Funeral series were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Thorp Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Hiebl officiating. Burial followed in Sylvan Cemetery, rural Thorp. Pallbearers were: Greg Klapatauskas, Kevin Frese, Adam Simington, Kenneth Frese, Ron Pogodzinski and David Lingenfelter, Jr. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home, on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Bernard John Frese was born on June 9, 1937, in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, to Henry and Rose (Vanderloop) Frese. He was raised on the family farm and educated at Thorp area schools. After completing his education, Bernard farmed with his dad for many years until entering the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center, where he resided until his death.

He is survived by two brothers: Roger (Joan) Frese of Withee, Gerald (Maryanne) Frese of Withee; two sisters: Maxine (Dave) Lingenfelter of Withee, and Roxann McAllister of park City, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Lorraine Trohanov.
