A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Athens. Rev. Charles Heibl will officiate. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Medford.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday at the church in Athens from 4PM until 7PM and again on Saturday at the church from 9:30AM until time of services.

Hildegard was born in Milwaukee on December 8, 1936 to Francis and Walburga (Beck) Gobernatz. After graduating from Medford High School, Hildy worked for the Board of Education in Fond du Lac.

She returned to the area and was married to Robert Boor on June 6, 1959 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. He survives.

Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in rural Dorchester until their retirement. Hildy was known for her hard work in the fields and with the animals on the farm, especially driving the 4-wheel-drive tractor and caring for the calves. She loved puttering around in her garden, watching the birds in her backyard and, at one time, was an avid bowler. With her gifted and patient hands, she created beautiful ceramics and quilts and delicious apple butter, apple pies, chocolate cakes and chocolate chip cookies for her family and friends to enjoy.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church of Athens and a former member of St. Louis Catholic Church and its Lady of Fatima Circle of the PCCW, both of Dorchester.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Athens; her children: Joseph (Mary) Boor of Dorchester, Gary (Barb) Boor of Osseo, Paul (Susy) Boor of Hutchinson, MN, William (Deborah) Boor of Poynette, Richard (Lori) Boor of Cedarburg, and Julie (Jeremy) Schafer of Stratford.

She is further survived by 10 grandchildren: Kimberly, Brandon, Anita, Benjamin, Zachary, Elisabeth, Megan, John, Addison and Chloe; two sisters: Mary Havey of Fond du Lac and Immy Kalmon of Washburn along with many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Hildy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John Gobernatz and a sister, Ann Acker.

Arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
