Pernsteiner, Henry A. (27 FEB 1926 - 4 OCT 2016)

Henry A. Pernsteiner, 90, of Stetsonville passed away October 4, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab, Medford, surrounded by his family.

Henry was born on February 27, 1926 in Medford to Antone and Mary Pernsteiner. Henry married Lois Jensen on September 27, 1946 who survives.

After school he enlisted in the Navy at 17 where he was stationed in the South Pacific on the USS Missouri during World War 2. After the war Henry went on to work for Bootzin’s Feed Mill, Funk’s Seed Corn Dealer, and he also farmed. In his retirement he enjoyed anything outdoors especially trout fishing, hunting, mowing the lawn, and gardening, and spending time with his family.

He was a member of the Boxrucker – Berry American Legion Post #519 in Stetsonville.

In addition to his wife, Lois, Henry is survived by his children Jan (Jim) Barnett of Chippewa Falls, Gale (John) Resech of Colby, June (Jeff) Jones of Washougal, Washington, and Gary (Linda) Pernsteiner of Medford, 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Greg Pernsteiner of Medford.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday October 10, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville at 11:00 AM, with Father Frederick Brost officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Little Black.

Visitation will take place on Monday October 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. A rosary service will take place at 9:30 AM on Monday October 10.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family for use at a later date.
