Meyer, Martha (1 OCT 1901 – 6 JAN 1968)

Funeral services for Martha Brandt Meyer were held here Tuesday afternoon, January 9th, from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Rev. Leroy Urman, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee, officiated, with interment being made at Riverside Cemetery.

Fred Thess, Walter Heideman, Hilmer Gustafson, Leon Bruchert, Ray Klessig and Wm. Weinberger served as pallbearers.

The deceased passed away January 6, 1968, at John Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Lake Worth, Florida. She was 66 years of age and her health had been failing in recent months.

Martha Brandt was born October 1, 1901 at Spencer, and shortly thereafter moved to the Withee community (Clark Co., Wis.) with her parents. She attended the Withee School system, and after graduating attended Bushey Business College at Appleton. For many years she was employed at De LaSalle High School in Chicago, until her retirement in 1964. Since that time she has made her winter home with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Niemi Sr. at Lake Worth, Florida, and in the summer months visited her niece, Mrs. Joyce Abel at Kaukauna.

Her passing is mourned by two brothers, Fred and Joe of Withee; one sister, Mrs. Emil (Ida) Niemi, Lak Worth, Florida, and a nephew, Emil Niemi Jr., also of Lake Worth, Florida. One brother, William, and a sister, Mrs. Gilbert (Viola) Meyer, preceded her in death.
