Bergemann, Sue Ellen (22 April 1948 – 15 December 2016)

Sue Bergemann, 68, of Neillsville died Thursday, Dec. 15, at her home.

Sue Ellen Bergemann was born April 22, 1948, in Neillsville, the daughter of Thomas and Lorraine (Bucksteiner) Flynn. She attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1966. After her schooling, she worked at the IDS Center in Minneapolis. Sue was then united in marriage to John Bergemann. After their wedding, they moved near Boston, MA, while John was stationed in the navy. When they returned to Wisconsin, they lived in Milwaukee where Sue worked for Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital. Sue and John moved back to Neillsville where Sue worked several jobs, some of which included a receptionist for Dr. Daniel Schield, whom she had a wonderful working relationship, Russell’s Hardware & Furniture Store, the Clark County Courthouse and for many years at the Marshfield Clinic. She retired from the clinic in 2014.

Sue was a kind-hearted, loving, hard-working woman who was always willing to help someone out or lend a hand wherever it was needed. She was a volunteer for the local American Red Cross Blood Mobile. Sue loved her children and would do anything for them, which included working three jobs at a time to provide for them. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and doing activities with them. Sue had a passion for interior design, and she loved the outdoors and tending to her garden and flowers. Sue had a strong faith and attended the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville which she often helped decorate.

She is survived by two children Dessa (Will) Johnson of Oak Creek and Lucas (Michelle) Bergemann of Neillsville; six grandchildren: Gabriel, Isabella, Raymond, Brody, Landon, and Alexis; her mother, Lorraine Flynn of Neillsville; two siblings, Tim (Bev) Flynn of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and Lynda (Richard) Urban of Neillsville; sisters-in-law: Jean (Keith) Short of Wautoma and Eileen (John) Pike of Lakewood, CO; and many nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Wayne Joseph of Hatfield.

She was preceded in death by two children: Tony and Amy Bergemann, her father, Thomas A. Flynn and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, John, and Martha Bergemann.

A Memorial service for Sue will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville. Pastor Steven Wentz will officiate. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the church.
