Weideman, Lydia E. (31 AUG 1920 – 2 JAN 2017)

Lydia E. Weideman , age 96, of Abbotsford passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at the House of Dove in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. Friends and family are welcome 9:30 am on Saturday January 7, 2017 until the time of the service. The Pastor Don Bruce will officiate. Burial will be at the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

Lydia was born August 31, 1920 in the Town of Frankfort, Colby, to Harvey Sr. and Anna Barts. She graduated from Colby High School in 1938. Lydia was united in marriage to Arthur Weideman on August 31, 1940. The couple operated a dairy farm near Abbotsford for 37 years.

Lydia was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She belonged to many clubs which included; Homemakers, Library Club, Pinochle Marathon, Ladies Aid, and Christ Lutheran Priscilla Guild.

Lydia enjoyed gardening, baking, dancing, playing cards, sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, fixing puzzles, and board games. Lydia and Arthur traveled extensively, giving them a chance to see the world.

Lydia is lovingly survived by her six children; a son, Gerald (Carol) Weideman; five daughters: Janice (James) Mullarkey, Darlene (Warren) Talcott, Nancy (Richard C.) Goldschmidt, Jenny (Phil) Ward, and Wendy (Alan) Grewe. She has been blessed with 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur of 71 years; a daughter, Carol, and a great grandson, Mason Grewe.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Colby Retirement Community, and the Marshfield House of the Dove for the loving care given to their mother. They also want to thank Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home for assisting them with the arrangements.
