Nabbefeld, Theresa Marie (Strobl) (26 DEC 1926 - 23 DEC 2016)

Theresa Marie Nabbefeld, 89, Catawba, died in the Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls on Friday, December 23, 2016.

She was born in Catawba on December 26, 1926, the daughter of Karl and Mary (Thurner) Strobl. She was married to Phillip Nabbefeld in September of 1946.

She managed the Catawba Nutrition Site for many years. She was a member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Catawba, of the Council of Catholic Women, and of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Catawba Kennan American Legion Post. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, gardening, sewing, knitting, quilting, cooking, baking, and helping neighbors.

She is survived by eight children, Marylou Nabbefeld, Osceola, WI, Carol (Jacob) Geisler, Bayfield, WI, Donald (Kathy), Catawba, Joan Nabbefeld, Plum City, WI, Richard, Catawba, Jane (Robert) Schulz, Brown Deer, WI, Julie (David) Johnson, Phillips, and Christen (Jeffrey) Williams, Phillips; by 11 grandchildren and by 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillips, on January 19, 1972; by one son Charles; by two sisters, Sophie Menning and Annistine Strobs; and by four brothers, Frank Strobl, Karl Strobl, Joseph Strobl, and Herman Strobl.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 27, at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Catawba with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Burial will be in the Catawba Cemetery in Catawba. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
