Ziemer, Randall “Randy” J. (21 NOV 1951 - 20 DEC 2016)

Randall “Randy” J. Ziemer passed away unexpectedly at his home in Rice Lake on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016.

Randy was born to Kenneth E. and Marcella “Sally” J. (Zirngible) Ziemer in Medford on Nov. 21, 1951. He graduated from River Falls High School in 1970, then worked ten years at the Steel Mill in Woodbury, Minn. After travelling around a bit, Randy then worked at Lear Seating in Janesville from 1994 through 2008, and retired from Swift Trucking in 2014.

Randy was a tender-hearted person who was always kind to his friends and loved ones. He always had flowers for his mom, and would give presents to people just because he thought they needed it. In 1968 he won first place in the Junior Indoor Rifle Sectional Championship, and was an excellent rifleman. Randy was a huge Packer fan who also loved to hunt, and he spent many years doing that at the cabin in Timberland Hills. He also loved to fish and spent many vacations in Canada with his dad fishing for walleye and trout.

Randy is survived by his mother, Sally and sister Laurie (Ziemer) Simenson, both of Shell Lake; niece, Lisa (Eric) Steinborn; great-nieces, Lydia and Gabriella Steinborn, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.; various aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Ken.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.
