Rose, Patrick Dean (6 NOV 1950 - 19 FEB 2017)

Patrick Dean Rose, age 66, of Owen, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. He was born on November 6, 1950, to Lester and Antoinette Rose in Grand Haven, Michigan, later moving to Redville, Wisconsin with his mother and siblings Jeffrey, Steven, and Gloria. He graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1968. He married Joanne Blume in 1972 and had one child, Kathryn.

Patrick had a colorful life of adventures. He apprenticed at the Star News newspaper as a printer, dairy farmed, drove semi throughout the forty eight contiguous states, managed a bison ranch, and drove school bus for over a decade, among other adventures. He joined the Lublin Volunteer Fire Department in 1992 and served as Chief from 1997-2011, when he retired due to health reasons. He assisted in starting the Lublin Area First Responders in 1994 and served as a medical first responder. He was an ambulance driver for the Gilman Ambulance from 1999-2011.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother-Steven and wife-Joanne. He is survived by his brother Jeffrey (Lublin), sister Gloria, daughter Kathryn (Allan) Larson (Wisconsin Rapids), and three grandchildren.

Patrick’s hobbies in retirement included fishing as much as possible with Ed and Wally, and being a proud grandparent to Anastasia, Gabriel, and Jordan (Larson). He enjoyed baking, collecting stamps and coins, and eating out with friends.

There will be a visitation from 9am-11am, followed by a service at 11am on Friday February 24, 2017 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen, Wisconsin.

A fellowship will follow at The Hayloft in Withee at Noon. Interment will occur at a later date.
