Steevens, Margaret M. (Zak) (25 JUN 1927 - 27 FEB 2017)

Margaret M. Steevens, 89, formerly of Medford, passed away on Feb. 27, 2017 at Golden LivingCenter in Wisconsin Dells.

Margaret was born on June 25, 1927 in the town of Little Black to Joseph and Julia Zak. She was a graduate of Liberty Elementary School, Dorchester High School and Taylor County Normal Teachers College. Margaret taught school in Taylor and Ozaukee Counties prior to her marriage to Clifford Steevens. She married Clifford on June 23, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her three brothers, Frank, Rudy and Tony Zak; and one sister, Anna Gerlick.

Margaret is survived by one son, Alan (Glenda) Steevens of St. Louis Mo.; two daughters, Mary Steevens of Bloomingdale, Ill. and Ann (Jim Kunick) of River Forest, Ill.; and one grandson, Nicolas Steevens of St. Paul, Minn. She is further survived by two brothers, Victor (Betty) Zak of Abbotsford and Mike Zak of Stetsonville, and many nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Phil Juza officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Monday, March 6 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with arrangements.
