Carlson, Esther M.C. (14 OCT 1924 – 3 MAR 2017)
Esther Mabel Christine (Anderson) Carlson passed away at her home surrounded by
her family on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was born October 14, 1925 to Carl and
Flora (Clark) Anderson in Spencer. She attended school in Unity and continued
her education at CSTC in Stevens Point, graduating with a teaching degree in
1943. She taught school for 5 years at Romeo, Cherokee and Enterprise schools.
On June 1, 1946, she was married to Marvin Carlson at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Unity where she was a lifetime member. She was a member of their LCW, the Altar
Guild, a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher and sang in the choir for many
years.
Esther is survived by 5 children: Carla (Dan) Schwantes of Weston, Philip (Dee)
Carlson of Marshfield, Sherry (Arthur) LaBar of Richmond, KY, Patricia (Randy)
Klimmer of Spencer and Scott (Arla) Carlson of Marshfield; her 14 grandchildren:
Brett (Kimberly) Schwantes, Chad Schwantes, Jodi (Bill) Truchon, Ryan (Karoline)
Schwantes, Julie (Nickolas) DeNardis, Nathan (Jeanna) Carlson, Brandon
(Stefanie) Carlson, Anna (Timothy) Lueker, Andrew (Jennifer) LaBar, Jeremy
(Michelle) Klimmer, Jonathon Klimmer, Jared (Lydia) Klimmer, Brittany Carlson
and Lance Carlson and 21 great-grandchildren: James, Benjamin, Eleanor and Peter
Schwantes; Lily, Daniel, Sophia and John Truchon; Amber, Seth and Isaiah
DeNardis; Kage, Kolton, Ariel and Haiden Carlson; Reagan, Kennedy, Jackson and
McKinley Grace Lueker; Kiara and Parker Klimmer and one (Rhett Kilmmer) due
April 15, 2017. Esther is further survived by three sisters-in-law Lois
Schindler, Carol Carlson and Ann Carlson and brother-in-law Wallace Carlson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her parents and three
brothers.
She loved her church, her family and friends, travel, reading, crossword puzzles
and handcrafts.
Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity on Saturday, March 18,
2017 from 9-11AM with a Celebration of Her Life Beginning at 11AM. Lunch will be
served at the church following her service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity.
