Boxrucker, Celine E. (Schumacher) Zirngibl (10 SEP 1928 - 31 MAR 2017)

Celine E. Boxrucker age 88 of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, IA.

She was born September 10, 1928 in Wood County, WI the daughter of Nicholas and Hattie (Ludwig) Schumacher. Celine attended Taylor County Normal School in Medford and taught in a country school for nine years.

She married Joseph Zirngibl on June 21, 1950. They raised their family in Stetsonville, WI where she worked at Bootzin’s IGA for 25 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville and enjoyed bowling, fishing, golf, playing cards and crocheting. Joseph preceded her in death in 1996.

She married Arthur Boxrucker on March 1, 2003 and moved to Prairie du Chien where she became an active member of the Holy Family Parish, Faith In Action, water aerobics and a hospice volunteer.

She is survived by her children, Joyce (Dan) Shannon, Joseph Zirngibl, Joan (Arthur) Marschke and Gail Zirngibl, a son in law Tracy Heier, her sister Janet (John) Pinter, sisters in law, Carol Schumacher and Hilda Boxrucker, stepchildren, Gail (Andy) Howard, Bruce (Jeanette) Boxrucker, Monica (Dan) Schneider, Kent, Paul (Jody), John (Laurie) and Scott Boxrucker, daughter in law Lucy Morrissey.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Nora Heier, two grandchildren John Zirngibl and James J. Kraemer, three brothers Kenneth, Donald and Norbert Schumacher, a sister Lorraine Underwood and an infant sister Angela.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11:30 AM at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish in Prairie du Chien with Rev. James Weighner officiating. A private family interment will be later in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Stetsonville, WI.

Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of services. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Stetsonville, WI where friends may call at church one hour prior to services.
