West Eaton (8 May 1919)

Mr. Gurgle had his saw mill and crew of men at the Geo. Gemmeke farm a few days last week.

We forgot to mention that William Able has a new Ford car. We are glad to see the farmers get cars, for they have earned them.

The Borgers children have been very sick with the flu.

Mr. Yartz has been very sick with the flu, but is better at this writing.

Gertrude Davey has been having the flu. It seems that sickness is trying to follow the Davey family through the spring. Mrs. Davey is not much better at this writing.

John Schmidt is at his home sick in bed. He thinks he has the flu.

John Vedrich returned from Ohio last week. He is in poor health after having the flu. He was sick about two months last winter.

Mr. and Mrs. Sclisker and children visited at the Yartz hone Sunday.

H. Bostwick was a caller at Vedrich’s Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Oznich spent Sunday evening with H. Bostwick.

Henry Gemmeke and wife spent Sunday afternoon with his brother, George Gemmeke.

Too late for last week
A.B. Davey, Mr. Podobnik, Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Meyer all went to Marshfield Saturday to look over some machinery for the new factory.

Mrs. Arch, who has been very low, is on the gain. Her neighbors all hope for a speedy recovery.

Mr. Pieuk was a caller at Bostwick’s Monday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Gemmeke and daughter, Iola, called at Frank Able’s Sunday afternoon.

Frank Able and Mr. Miller and Gus. Meinholt all have new Ford cars. Good for them.

Dr. Beckman has been calling in our vicinity of late.

The Parkhill family and the Selnich family have all been very sick with the flu.

Lyle Bostwick was a Willard caller Monday morning.

Martin Arch has been sick with the flu, but is able to be around again.

Ben Stanley and daughter were callers at Bostwick’s Saturday morning.
