Chas. A. Ackerman died May 8th, 1919. He was born Dec. 31st, 1834 at Hartwick, Otsego County, New York. He resided there until he was nineteen years of age and then came to Dodge County, Wis. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Condit Jan. 1, 1857, and made their home at Rubicon, Dodge County, until Oct. 20, 1864, when they moved with oxen and prairie schooner to Neillsville, arriving here Nov. 1st, 1864. The following spring they moved onto the farm in Pine Valley, which has been their home ever since. To them were born five children, Cecil, Isabell, Edith, Frederick and Cora, three of whom, Cecil of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Henry Garvin of Cathay, N.D., and Frederick, who lives on the home farm, survive their parents.
