Bohnsack, Joan (Marriage – 21 September 1974)

Miss Joan Bohnsack and Roger Buchholz exchanged marriage vows Saturday, September 21, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville, before the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff. Later, the couple greeted guests at a reception at the Wildcat Inn.

The former Miss Bohnsack, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bohnsack, was presented in marriage by her father. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Buchholz are the groom’s parents. All are of Rt. 3 Neillsville.

A bouquet of white mums, roses, and baby’s breath complemented the bride’s gown of imported silk organza styled with neckline and sleeve ruffles, and trimmed with venise lace to form an A-Line skirt. Matching lace, trimmed the chapel-length t rain, and the mantilla veil.

Brown wicker baskets filled with a variety of fall flowers were carried by maid-of-honor Karen Bohnsack, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids Barbara Bird and Debbie Seelow. Their knit polyester gowns in shades of green, orange, and yellow, respectively, featured princess seaming, stand-up collar detail and short, puffed sleeves.

Attending the groom were Dennis Buchholz, brother of the groom, as bestman, and Glenn Halle, and Richard Steinert, Merrillan, as groomsmen. Guests were seated by Dennis Poppe, and Randy Buchholz.

Cheryl bell was the flower girl, and James Spaete, the ringbearer.

Special music at the wedding was by Linda Krehmeyer.

The bride was honored at pre-nuptial showers hostessed by Miss Seelow and Miss Bird, and by Mrs. Bob Bell and Mrs. Orville Loberg.

Both graduates of Neillsville High School, the newlyweds are making their home on Rt. 1 Greenwood. The new Mrs. Buchholz is employed as a secretary at the Neillsville Radio station (WCCN), and her husband farms with his father.
