Schindler, Marcella Jane* (Faude) (5 JAN 1925 - 11 JAN 2018)

Marcella J. Schindler, age 93, of Owen, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Dycora Transitional Health in Abbotsford, WI.

A Funeral Service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Chaplain David Clements will officiate. Private interment is at Maplehurst Public Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marcella was born on January 5, 1925, the daughter of Ernest and Selma (Greitsch) Faude in Medford, WI. Marcella grew up on the family farm in Perkinstown, WI. After graduating from Medford high school, she worked in Milwaukee for a couple of years. Marcella returned to Medford, where she met and married Bruno Schindler on June 2, 1945.

Together they farmed and raised their four children. She also tended bar and worked at Weathershield manufacturing for 17 years until retirement. Marcella lived at home for 17 years after Bruno's death before moving to Our House Assisted Living in Medford and then finally to Dycora Transitional Health in Abbotsford. At the time of her death, Marcella was under the care of Hope Hospice.

Marcella loved camping, fishing, gardening, canning, and cooking for her friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed polka dancing, feeding birds, and caring for stray cats.
Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; like tipping a few beers at the Redville Store.

Marcella is survived by her 3 sons: Donald (Theresa) Schindler of Owen, Dennis (Betty) Schindler of O'Fallon, Missouri and James Schindler of Withee; a daughter: Susan (Robert) Wood of Medford, three grandchildren: LeAnne (Jamie Valentine) Schindler, Jill (Drew Potocnik) Schindler, and John (Kristen) Schindler; two step-grandchildren: Tyler (Rupa) Wood, and Nathan (Kerry Lynch) Wood; 7 Great-Grandchildren: Rachel, Braeden, Allison, Nathan, Lyndsey, Grant, and Hannah; four step-great-grandchildren: Griffin, Trevor, Julian, and Talin; and one great-great-grandson, Evan. She is further survived by a brother: Alvin Faude and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruno (September 30, 2000) and five siblings: Bernice, Roy, Eugene, Glendon, and Harley.
