Theiler, Fredrick Jacob (25 April 1937 – 18 December 2017)

Fredrick Jacob Theiler, 80, formerly of Humbird, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at his daughter’s home in Black River Falls. Frick was born April 25, 1937, in Humbird to William and Emma (Trachsel) Theiler, Sr. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Alma Center.

Frick had various careers in his life. He owned and operated the Standard Station in Humbird for several years, worked at Howard Pierce’s Tree Farm, the iron mine, and he owned and operated the Hotel Bar in Humbird with his longtime companion Theresa Eisberner. He also did road maintenance for the Town of Mentor.

Frick also served on the Humbird Fire Department and was fire chief for a number of years. He enjoyed many trips to Deadwood, SD.

Frick is survived, by his son Scott (Robin Theiler of Port Richey, FL, and his daughter Jennifer (Jerel) Gunning of Black River Falls; three grandchildren, Julie, Camille and Sabrina; two brothers, Kal (Sue) Theiler of Humbird and Raymond Theiler of Humbird; two sisters, Dixie Gansel of Aptos, CA, and Peg Koplitz, of Greely, CO.

Frick was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma; son Rick; and brother William “Sonny” Theiler Jr.

Graveside services will be held at Mentor Cemetery in the spring.
