Nielsen, Meryl F. (Peterson) (10 FEB 1916 - 18 DEC 2005)

Meryl F. Nielsen, 89, Green Bay, died Sunday, December 18, 2005.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 22 at Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay, with Rev. Paul Johnsen officiating.

Burial was at Fort Howard Memorial Park in Green Bay.

Mrs. Hans (Meryl) Nielsen, 89, Green Bay, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at a local nursing home.

She was born Feb. 10, 1916, to the late Peter and Emma B. (Claviter) Peterson in Medford, Wis.

She graduated from Medford High School in 1933. Meryl trained to be a nurse at Medford Hospital.

On Aug. 24, 1938, she married Hans Nielsen in Stetsonville, Wis. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 2005. They were able to enjoy 67 wonderful years of marriage.

She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at St. Vincent Hospital until her retirement. She worked for a short time at Kaap's Restaurant.

She loved hunting, fishing, traveling, the outdoors and gardening. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, cross-stitching, doing crossword puzzles and making flannel pajamas for each of her grandchildren. Meryl was skilled at cooking wild game.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 22, at Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay with Rev. Paul Johnsen officiating. Burial was at Fort Howard Memorial Park in Green Bay.
