Barts, Raymond E. (25 MAR 1932 - 29 MAY 2018)

Raymond E. Barts, 86, of Abbotsford passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the New Life Apostolic Church in Medford at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services. Reverend Ron Schuenke officiating.

Ray was born on March 25, 1932 in the Town of Hull the son of Armin and Emma (Kropelin) Barts. He received his education at the Rusk School in the Town of Frankfort. Ray was a farmhand until he bought his first farm in the town of Holton and sold it in the fall of 1955, his marriage to Arlene Jensen took place on June 18, 1955 at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford.

On April 11, 1956 Ray was drafted in the US Army Infantry where he was stationed in Germany until January 15, 1958. He then bought two dairy farms in the Town of Hoard retiring in 1976.
He enjoyed making wood in his retirement and loved to play cards.

Ray is survived by his wife; Arlene of Abbotsford, children: Kevin (Vicki) Barts of Owen, Susan (Rod) Schoelzel of Stevens Point, Tammy (Cory) Ford of San Diego, CA and Lynn (Frank) Ellner of Wainae, HI, he is further survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and sisters: Iola Merrit of Pueblo, Co and Erma Denzin of Laramie, WY.

Ray is preceded in death by his son: Duran in October 1969 and a sister: Lila Thieme.
