Schoengarth, Carol J. (Marriage – 5 April 1975)

Miss Carol J. Schoengarth wore an heirloom gown as she became the bride of Douglas Foemmel on Saturday, April 5, in a 4 p.m. ceremony performed at the Neillsville United Church of Christ by the Rev. Gary Clark. A reception honoring the couple was held later at Bali Hai Supper Club.

The daughter of Judge and Mrs. Lowell D. Schoengarth of Neillsville, the bride was presented in marriage by her father. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Foemmel, Rt. 2 Neillsville.

Ivory satin with seed pearl beading fashioned the bride’s entrained, princess style gown made by her grandmother, Mrs. Harry Johnson, for her mother, Virginia (Johnson) Schoengarth. An orchid surrounded by white roses, baby’s breath and ivy formed the wedding bouquet.

Matron of honor Mrs. Marilyn Sigler, Wisconsin Rapids, and bridesmaids Cheryl Foemmel, Marshfield, and Lori Shaw, Rochester, Mn., appeared in flowered princess style gowns accessorized with hats. They carried basket arrangements of lavender daisies and baby’s breath.

Attending the groom were Ken Sackman, Stevens Point, as bestman and Ron Todryk and Bernie Jordahl, also of Stevens Point, as groomsmen. Scott Seeholm, Stevens Point, and Gary Nowabielsky of La Crosse, seated guests.

Soloist Scott Hunsberger sang “The Wedding Song” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”

The bride was honored at a prenuptial shower given by Mrs. Foemmel, Cheryl Foemmel and Mrs. Larsen.

Both 1972 graduates of Neillsville high School, the bride attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for two years and her husband attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for two years. She is employed by a Stevens Point insurance Company; he owns a photography studio in Stevens Point.

The newlyweds are living in Stevens Point. They plan a wedding trip in July.
