LaFlex, Mr./Mrs. Frank (Gold - 14 JUL 1921)
On Sunday, July 11, 1971, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Frank LaFlex honored them
with an open house celebration for their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and
Mrs. LaFlex and their children attended the 9 a.m. services at the Zion Lutheran
Church in Gilman and a special prayer was said commemorating their 50 years of
wedded life. From two until five p.m. a reception was held at the Colburn Town
Hall in Huron, Wisconsin. Over two hundred friends and relatives attended to
extend their congratulations to the golden jubilarians. A buffet lunch was
served, after which Mr. and Mrs. La Flex cut their beautiful anniversary cake.
Frank LaFlex and Adeline Anton were united in marriage on July 14, 1921.
Reverend R.H. Kreit officiated at the ceremony, which took place at Thief River
Falls, Minnesota. Nis Anton and Irene Fuller attended the couple.
In 1923 the couple moved to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where they spent the next
26 years farming. They moved to their present residence near Gilman in 1949.
Mr. and Mrs. LaFlex are the parents of nine children: Oliver of Thorp; Phyllis
(Wald) of Chippewa Falls; Wenona (Weiss) of Carpentersville, Illinois; Donna
(Teclaw) of Thorp; Earl of Jacksonville, Florida; Iva of St. Cloud, Minnesota;
Maynard, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam; Larry, stationed with the U.S.
Navy in San Francisco, California; and Patricia (Madison) of Gilman. They also
have fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
