Miss Judy Greschner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Greschner Jr., Route 1, Owen
(Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Jacqueline Engel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto
Engel, Route 2, Withee, were selected as delegates to Badger Girls State.
Miss Mary Kaz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kaz, Route 2, Owen, and Miss Kristi
Sillampa, Route 1, Owen, were chosen as alternatives.
The girls attend Owen-Withee High School and are members of the junior class.
The students are selected by the high school faculty.
To become a delegate to Badger Girls State the student must have outstanding
qualities of leadership, community participation and service, honesty and good
character, cooperativeness, and scholarship rating in the upper third of her
class.
The thirty-first session of the Wisconsin American Legion Auxiliary Bader Girls
State will be held at the University of Wisconsin Campus at Madison on June 8 to
15, 1974. It is a project in good citizenship. The girls are sponsored by the
Van Huizen-Fritz Post No. 123 Auxiliary Unit of Owen.
