Mitte, Franklin Theodore (23 May 1933 – 20 March 2019) With Flag

Franklin Mitte, age 85, of Neillsville, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Franklin Theodore Mitte was born on May 23, 1933 at home in Globe, the son of Theodore and Clara (Hemp) Mitte. He was a life-long member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe, baptized on June 11, 1933 and confirmed on June 22, 1947. He attended Globe Country School and graduated from Neillsville High School on May 24, 1951. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. When he returned home he farmed on the family farm. Frank later sold the farm and worked in the Neillsville area. After retiring, he drove for Social Services.

He is survived by a sister, Florence Drescher of Neillsville, a sister-in-law, Evelyn Mitte of Neillsville and nieces: Joy (Frank) Zeman, Cindy (Cedric) Thayer, Pamela (Tim) Yaeger, Judy (Mark) Tiede and great nieces and nephew, Kelly (Johnathon) Poquette, Beth (Josh) Bell, Amanda (David) Tess, Vanessa (Tony) Olson, Ashley Coker and Abagail, Jordan and Eden Schultz, along with step great niece and nephews, Jesse (Laura), Casey (Leslie) and Marissa Thayer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert, two brothers-in-law, Jim Vincent and Wayne Drescher and a niece, Val Vincent.

A Memorial Service for Franklin will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe. Pastor Nathan Wilke will officiate. Music will be provided by Karen Hoppa, organist. Interment will be in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the church.
