Salzwedel, Helma J (25 August 1884-30 September 1975)

Mrs. Helma J. Salzwedel, 91, of Echo Lane, Rhinelander, formerly of
Marshfield, died at noon Tuesday at the Friendly Village Nursing Home in
Rhinelander.

Services will be Friday at the Alliance Missionary Church in
Marshfield. Officiating will be the Rev. Stanley A. Aukema, pastor, and
the Rev. Robert Anderson. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

The former Helma J. Larson was born January 22, 1884, in Greenwood,
where she was educated. After her marriage to Henry Salzwedel in April
1900 at Greenwood, the couple farmed in Clark County until 1935.

They then came to Marshfield, where Mr. Salzwedel was a contractor.
He died April 14, 1936. Mrs. Salzwedel continued to reside here until 13
years ago when she moved to Rhinelander.

She was a member of the Four Square Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James (Ila) Englebretson,
Greenwood, and Mrs. Walter (Beulah) Johnson and Mrs. Lawrence (Violet)
Mess, both of Rhinelander; a son, Ira Salzwedel, Rhinelander; 28
grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, two
daughters, five brothers and four sisters.
