NHS-FFA Convention (12/14 June 1979)
Five FFA members and two advisors from Neillsville High School attended a state
FFA convention, June 12-14. Going as delegates were Todd Lewis and Monty
Kuechenmeister. State Farm Candidate was Larry Anason and members of the state
band were Gary Genteman and Roberta Genteman.
The Neillsville FFA received a safety program certificate. Advisor Herman
Seebandt judged at an FFA parliamentary procedure semi-finals.
Todd Lewis, local chapter president, attended a chapter president’s leadership
award breakfast. Only chapters having participated in chapter safety, BOAC and
cooperative leadership are able to attend.
Larry Anason accepted the BOAC area award for the chapter and his State Farmer
Degree. Larry’s farming program consists of raising one dairy cow, one heifer
and one dairy calf. He ‘cash crops’ five acres of field corn. Larry is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Lamoine Anason.
Gary and Roberta Genteman played with an FFA band throughout the three days and
will be going to the State Fair in August.
