Peggy Gosse and Marilyn Bauer were selected from Colby High School as Badger
Girl State Representatives.
Miss Gosee, a junior, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gosse, Route 1,
Curtiss, and is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary to Otto H. Kops Post
235.
Also a junior, Miss Bauer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Bauer, Colby,
and is sponsored by by the Colby American Legion Auxiliary to Raymond Peter
Firnstahl Post 266, with assistance of the Colby Community Chest.
Alternatives at Colby are Sue Peissig and Deanna Scidmore.
Miss Gosse’s activities include masquers, thespians, newspaper staff, French
club, library club, YARC, national honor society, forensics club, band and youth
for understanding.
Miss Bauer is active in masquers, thespians, Spanish club, library club,
national honor society, forensics, girls’ glee club, band, girls athletic
association and youth for understanding.
The girls were chosen by their respective faculties, will attend the activities
at the University of Wisconsin Campus at Madison from June 9 to 16m 1873. The
purpose of the program is to teach government organization and practices to high
school juniors.
