Draeger, Paul G. (21 Mar 1891 – 1 Jan 1976)

Paul Gustave Draeger, 84, a resident of the Colonial Home, Dolby, died there January 1, 1976.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, Colby, with the Rev. Kenneth Dix officiating. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Draeger was born March 21, 1891 in Clarno, Wisconsin, and on December 30, 1915 he married Anna Panke in St. John’s Evangelical Church, which is presently First Universal Church of Christ. She died May 31, 1974.

The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 1970.

Mr. Draeger was employed at the Colby Cheese Box plant, and for many years was a janitor at the Colby grade school. He also worked for Markus feed mill.

He was active in church affairs and was chairman of the building committee in 1941. He also served as president of the church council for 25 years.

He was a member of the First United Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge 204, Colby.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Draeger, Jr., Racine, and Everett Bailey, Alameda, California; one daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Becker, Colby; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Allmann, Medford, and Mrs. May Watson, Genoa City; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
