Jacque, Shari A. (9 June 1944 – 27 January 2023)

Shari A. Jacque, age 78, of Thorp, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family after a one year battle with cancer. There will be no service held and burial will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.

Shari Ann Burzinski was born on June 9, 1944, in rural Thorp, the daughter of Stanley L. and Verna M. (Hoffman) Burzinski. She received her education in Thorp, graduating in 1962 from Thorp High School. Shari was united in marriage to William H. Jacque on June 22, 1963, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp.

She worked at the Ben Franklin, the movie theater in Thorp that her parents owned, Thorp IGA, at Thorp Elementary School in the kitchen and on the playground, at Oakbrook Nursing & Rehab and at the AmericInn in Thorp. Shari also cleaned many businesses and homes with her husband. She retired from Wal-Mart in Chippewa Falls, after 12 years of employment.

Shari enjoyed shooting pool, putting puzzles together, going to rummage sales, making crafts and making cookies at Christmas and giving them all away. She especially loved her miniature dachshunds and spending time with family.

She is survived by her three daughters: Kim (Mike) Lewien and Tracie (Trevor) Schmidt, both of Thorp, and Amanda (Randy) Bruder of Stevens Point; 8 grandchildren: Kayla (Brian) Gilbertson, Tyler Lewien, Bryann (Michael) Martines, Cole, Dylan and Kieley Schmidt, Jillian and Ella Plummer; 4 great-grandchildren: Harper, Izyk, Alyza and Brielle; one brother: Leroy (Bonnie) Burzinski of Beloit; one sister: Joan (Harold) Doege of Huntley, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Shari is preceded in death by her son: Timothy Jacque in 1970; her parents; and one brother: David Burzinski in 2012.

The family would like to extend a special Thank you to HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospice and the Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center for the wonderful care that Shari received.
