Rodman, Mildred I. (22 April 1893 – 21 May 1983)

Mildred I. Rodman, 90, of 211 East Division St., Neillsville, passed away in Neillsville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 21. She left 133 direct descendants as survivors.

The deceased was born on April 22, 1893, in Marathon County to Charles and Ada (Baker) Wheelock. As a young child, she moved with her parents to Clark County and received her education here, attending Northside School in Neillsville. On December 29, 1908, she married Horace E. Rodman in Neillsville ceremonies. The couple then farmed in the Neillsville area for several years, then moved into the Neillsville Community. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the Cannonville Ladies Aid.

Surviving her are four sons, Cecil of Elk Mound, Robert of Monico, Clyde of Woodruff and Harley of Glenrock, Wy.; three daughters, Mrs. Hallie (Ruth) Schultz of Omro, Mrs. Birdine Oman of Jackson, Mich., and Mrs. Bernard (Ruby) Kuhn of Neillsville; 36 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren; and 24 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, December 22, 1973, a son, Bernard, four sisters, Linda, Clarissa, Myra d Mamie, and three brothers Hubert, Willis and Myron.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, May 25, from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville with the Rev. Knapp of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Arpin officiating. Burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery, Granton. Music was provided by Betty Schultz and Iris Musil. The pallbearers were grandsons Leonard Schultz, James Kuhn, Michael Schuster and Lyle, Ken and Butch Rodman.
