This new museum first opened in 1995 in the former St. Hedwig's rectory, 2 miles east of Thorp. It recently moved to its new location in the city. Its collection has continued to expand and change.  Special features include antique and colored dishes, clothing, home furnishings, children's toys, quilts and other needle work.  There are numerous collections of old photos, publications, family histories and yearbooks plus a wide range of items which are on private loan to the museum.  Special theme rooms show how people and industry cooperated in the development of the Thorp area. It is utter delight for a family historian to visit such a treasure trove of information and spend a leisurely afternoon exploring past generation of the area.  There is something of interest in every corner!

rectory ( about 2005, when the Thorp Area Museum was located there).
