Any senior will agree that graduation will mean one of the saddest was well as one of the proudest experiences we’ve had.

 

After four years, we feel as though we have a part ownership in Owen High School. Yes, there were days when we were disgusted with everything in general, but now we’re just beginning to realize the truth in words “These school days are your happiest days.”

 

We have tried to put our best foot forward while some seniors may have been more talented in some things than others, each member was done his or her bit to make all of our class undertakings “click.”

 

In our freshman year, we were thirty-six strong. We were the traditional “green freshies” but quickly overcame this and entered into the swing of things by taking part in all extra-curricular activities. Outstanding highlights of this year were our initiation by the sophomores. The return party and that unforgettable sleigh-ride party were also memorable experiences. 

 

When sophomores, we kept up the good work and claimed first place among the classes in the purchasing of war bonds and stamps in the third war loan.

 

As juniors we achieved on of the greatest accomplishments, the Junior Prom. Our King was Dick Needham and his Queen Dolly Anne Marsh. The gym was decorated to follow the theme of the “Carolina Moon” and Benny Graham provided the “mellow” music.

 

Now, as seniors we are winding up our high school career with the publication of the Cloverleaf. We, the class of “46,” have greatly dwindled in size and with our twenty-seven members, will be one of the smallest classed ever to graduate.
