The Christmas Angel Project made its final delivery of the season to needy Neillsville-area families Saturday, Dec. 18, and helped hundreds of area community members over the past few weeks.

A total of 260 children and 95 families were helped this year from the project, which provides gifts, clothing and food items for needy area families. The project serves the Neillsville, Granton, Chili, Humbird, Greenwood, Owen and Withee areas this year.

Volunteers worked to distribute items from the Neillsville United Church of Christ (UCC) Fellowship Hall. Cathy Schnabel and her daughter, Stacy Schilling, coordinated the project.

Volunteers had worked on the project at UCC since Friday, Nov. 26; the first delivery date for items was Sat. Dec. 11th.

Many individuals donated time, made donations and provided financial resources for the project, Schnabel said.

Schnabel recognized Mary Sladich for making a large pot of chili and the Neillsville Pizza Hut for providing pizza for volunteers Sat. Dec. 11.

Many area businesses, organizations and youth organizations were involved in this year’s Christmas Angel Project, including Neillsville United Church of Christ, Neillsville St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Granton Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pine Valley Zion Lutheran ELCA Church, Neillsville Hillside Community Church, Neillsville Marty’s Foods, Neillsville Hansen’s IGA, Neillsville Memorial Medical Center, Marshfield Area Community Foundation – Women’s Giving Circle, Granton Citizens State Bank, Marshfield St. Joseph’s Hospital, Clark County Chapter – Thrivent for Lutherans, Weathershield Lite Foundation, Neillsville Mid-Wisconsin Bank, Jackson County Correctional Institution, Neillsville United Church of Christ Youth Group, Catholic Knights Branch 150, St. Mary’s Justice and Peace Committee, Marshfield Clinic – Information Systems, Neillsville Optimist Club, Listeman Foundation, Marshfield Furniture, Clark County United Way, Neillsville Pamida, Clark County Social Services, Granton First Responders, Kemp’s Milk, Lynn Dairy, Neillsville Cub Scouts, Neillsville Girl Scouts, Chili 4-H, Romadka 4-H, Neillsville Lions Club, Neillsville Rotary Club, Neillsville Men’s Club, Neillsville Citizens State Bank, Loyal Citizens State Bank, Neillsville FCCLA, Granton FFA, Neillsville Curves, Neillsville Kiwanis Club, Neillsville Associated Bank, Neillsville Pizza Hut and Dental Clinic of Marshfield.
