On October 15, 2007, the deposit accounts of the Thorp and Greenwood branches of Associated Bank were purchased by Marshfield Savings Bank and have changed to Forward Financial Bank, a Branch of Marshfield Savings Bank.

Marshfield Savings Bank, with two offices in Marshfield, was originally incorporated in 1919 and has been serving its customers for over 80 years.  Marshfield Savings Bank started out as Marshfield Building and Loan, with the mission of helping customers to build or buy houses. As time went on, the Building and Loan began to expand its mission and became Marshfield Savings and Loan.  They were issued deposit insurance from the FDIC on December 27, 1949 and at that time began to offer savings products as well as loans.  Their mission continued to evolve and on January 1, 1993 Marshfield Savings and Loan became a mutual state chartered savings bank called Marshfield Savings Bank and has been a full-service financial institution ever since.

Their success since 1919 has been the result of helping people own their homes, and they will continue to strive to remain basically housing orientated with emphasis on being a complete family financial center offering home loans, improvement loans, and a complete variety of commercial, consumer and personal loans, plus checking accounts and a full range of savings programs.  Throughout the years they have consciously strived to be dedicated to customer service while fulfilling the financial needs of their customers.  They look forward to working with you!

Sarah Alger, Branch Manager at Forward Financial Bank, Thorp branch notes that they will continue to be a full-service bank open the same hours and will maintain the same friendly staff.  She is pleased to announce that an advantage customers at Forward Financial Bank will now benefit from is loan decisions being made locally as wasn’t the case in the past.  She highlights that Marshfield Savings Bank will be very active in the community, their goal being to support the local community and help it to prosper.  Telebanking is available by calling 1-800-671-0942 and online banking can be done at the following website: www.forwardfinancialbank.com

Sarah concludes, “We want to personally invite everyone in to show you what Forward Financial Bank has to offer.  We would love the opportunity to get to know you.
