Henry Klauck now drives John McGrogan’s dray, vice Peter Heiser
resigned. Born: on the 24th ult., to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Roesler
of the Town of Reseburg a son. All camps in this vicinity broke
last week, the roads having given out by the disappearance of snow.
Gormley Bros. broke their two camps north of here last week, having
finished the cut contracted for the N.W.L. Co. Lawyer Parkhill’s
business is increasing and he has found it necessary to add a new No. 6
Remington typewriter to his office furniture. Married at the M.
E. Parsonage in this village, on Sat. Feb. 29 by Rev. Bachman Mr. Thomas
Nixon and Mrs. Laura Fults. Wm. Simerson, who has been operating
a camp for Jos. Gibson near Lynn this winter, broke camp on Fri. last
and returned home on Tues. Stanley Sunbeams – Born at
Tannerville, Town of Edson, to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bright on Tues. the
18th ult., a daughter. 75 Years Ago (1921)
Bobb’s Mill – A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Tony Wnukowski on Feb.
20th. Eidsvold – Born to Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Gordon on Thurs.
March 3rd, a baby girl. Born: to Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Possley, of
Edson Feb. 19th a son. 50 Years Ago (1946)
On Tues. morning, Feb. 26, at St. Ann’s Church in Stanley occurred the
marriage of May Hazuga, daughter of John Hazuga, and Sylvester Driessen,
son of Fred Driessen of Thorp. Neiman’s Corner – A baby girl was
born to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Berdal at the Victory Hospital at Stanley last
Thursday. Wild Cherry – Mr. and Mrs. Art Natzke are the proud
parents of a baby girl, born to them at Merrill, Wis. Butler – A
daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Pirl Burrington, of Grand Forks, N.D.,
recently. Mrs. Anna Dubicki passed away at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Adam Nyckel, in Chicago, on Feb. 21, 1946, of old age
infirmities. Taft – A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dircks,
Feb. 22nd. On Wed. Feb. 27th at Holy Innocents Church, Chicago,
a lovely double ring ceremony was performed when Miss Julia Depa,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Depa of Thorp, became the bride of Peter
Wiklanski, of Pellston, Mich. 25 Years Ago (1971)
Stanley Mamayek, 69, passed away suddenly at his home Sat. Feb.
27th. Eva Jarmakowicz, 78, passed away Fri. Feb. 26, 1971.
Bearing a proclamation from Gov. Patrick Lucey naming them Ambassadors
from the State of Wis.: Robin Huls and Joe Possley of Thorp are among 70
members of the Concert Choir of Wis. U-River Falls will leave for
Copenhagen March 24th. Frank Graham, 86, a retired farmer,
passed away Sat. Feb. 27, at Osseo Hospital. Katherine Symbal,
85, a resident of route 3 Stanley, died Feb. 24 at Sacred Heart
Hospital, Eau Claire. 10 Years Ago (1986)
Hester Glasshof, 81, Thorp, died Sun. March 2, 1986 at Luther Hospital,
Eau Claire. Nick Peleschak, 64, Thorp, died suddenly Feb. 28,
1986 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls. Max Siemek, 67,
rural Gilman died at his residence Wed. morning, Feb. 26, 1986, after a
lingering illness.
