Way Back When

When looking at this photograph one is reminded of warm summer days with a light breeze tousling your hair.  If you have ever been fortunate enough to go horseback riding, there is no need to tell you of the feeling of being high up on the back of such a strong magnificent creature.  I am thrilled that the joy of being a horse owner is back in popularity.  Nothing thrills a heart more than the friendship between a child and their horse.  Who are these lucky riders?  Do you suppose they can remember the name of the horse they are riding?

Stella Wilhelm called to let us know that the two men pictured in our “Way Back When” are her father and uncle.  Her father was Andrew Kramas and his trade was carpentry.  He built two homes in Thorp on the Northeast side of town that have stood the test of time.  Joe Zaidel, Stella’s Uncle was also in the picture was married to Stella’s sister Jean.  We have received two completely different identifications for this picture.  How very interesting!  The mystery remains unsolved.

In a recent “Way Back When” was a wedding picture of Virgil and Elsie (Vetterkind) Bobb.  The attendants are his sister, Allie Bobb, and her brother, Elmer Vetterkind.  They were married May 20, 1924.  Virgil & Elsie were Eleanor Schultze’s parents.  She lives in Thorp.
