Way Back When

“It’s off to camp we go!” This week’s Way Back When photo brings us three young boys waving good bye to head off to what can be assumed to be Boy Scout Camp.  With their packs, luggage, and supplies in hand, the boys get ready to make their way down the road.  On the stoop is a mother figure with a baby girl in her arms, both out to see the boys head out.  Do you know any of the Boy Scouts or where they are going?  Do you know who the woman in the background is?  Let us know what you know about this photo by contacting The Thorp Courier.

Last week, we featured a picture of a man standing in a field with his donkey.  We came to find out that the animal was actually a mule and that the man in the photo was Walter Reyzer.  Larry Urban called to inform The Courier that Walter worked as a livestock dealer and that in the early 1960’s; he bought a team of horses from Urban’s father.  According to Urban, Walter Reyzer’s daughters were named after the month in which they were born.  Another source thought that the photo of Reyzer was taken at the ball diamond in Lublin.
