Kimball, Martha F. (16 Jan 1858 - 16 Augl 1908)

Mrs. Kimball died at the home of her sister Mrs. Ada Bosworth near Chetek, where she was visiting, Sunday Aug. 16, 1908. Her health had been poor for a long time, but she had kept up through sheer will power.

Her remains were brought to Neillsville, Clark County Monday, and Tuesday afternoon the funeral was held at the home of Mrs. C.A. Youmans, Rev. H.A Risser officiating.

Martha Florence Youmans was born in the town of Arlington, Columbia Co., Wis., Jan. 16, 1858. She began to teach school when only fifteen years of age, moving with her parents to Barron County about 1875, where she continued to teach. They moved to Neillsville in 1881, where she taught for some time in the city schools. She was married Jun 5, 1891 to J.A. Kimball who preceded her in death just five months ago. She leaves one brother, H.J. Youmans of Platteville and a sister, Mrs. Ada Bosworth of Chetek.

Mrs. Kimball was a lady of rare refinement of character, conscientious and devoted to high ideals of life, a warm friends and one of the kindest and best of neighbors. Her noble soul was tenanted in a frail body, and her intense nervous energy, giving but little promise of long life. She has found rest, and all who knew her well will long remember her, and feel glad to know that they were her friends.
