Bombard, Dale M. (19 Sep 1925 - 8 Jul 2002)

Dale M. Bombard, 76, Spencer, died on Monday, Jul 8, 2002, at his home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jul 11, at the Spencer United Methodist Church. The Rev. Lois Takata officiated. Burial was in the West Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Bombard, Benjamin Cox, Rick Wodinowich, Nicholaus Schultz, Kyle Schultz and Ron Seefeldt.

Dale M. Bombard was born on Sept. 19, 1925, in Clark County, to Milton and Mildred (nee McVean) Bombard. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He married Doris Goodell on Oct. 11, 1947, in the town of Sherman. She died on April 17, 1978. He farmed, worked at Pleasant Valley Farms, and was a manager for Parkin Dairy at its Merrill store and other Parkin Dairy stores. He married Lorraine (Eilers) Steines on Dec. 17, 1983. They later divorced. His interests included playing cards and spending time with his great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Michael (Victoria) Bombard, North Prairie; one daughter, Barbara Schultz, Spencer; five grandchildren, Michael Bombard, Sharon (Benjamin) Cox, Jamie (Rick Wodinowich) Schultz, Nicholaus Schultz, and Kyle (Diane) Schultz; seven great-grandchildren, Kally, Elizabeth and Grace Wodinowich, Mandie and Jacob Schultz, Megan Schultz, and Gabriele Cox; and one sister, Charlotte Michaels, Rockford, Ill. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Doris; one daughter, Sharon; and one brother, Calvin Bombard.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
