Subke, Johanna (4 Feb 1823 - 3 Mar 1913)

Mrs. Johanna Subke died at the home of her son, John Subke, in Levis, Clark County, Monday, March 3rd, 1913, aged 90 years, 1 months and 1 day.

She was born in Germany Feb. 4th, 1823 and married Henry Subke in 1851. They came to Chicago in 1870 and lived there until 1882, when they moved to Minneapolis, where they lived till 1891; returning to Chicago they made that city their home till 1897, her husband dying in 1895. She has made her home with her son John since.

Besides him she leaves two sons; Chas. Subke, of Vancouver, Wash., and Walter Subke, of Los Angeles, Cal., and one daughter, Mrs. E. Schoenhoff. Two daughters and one son are dead. She leaves also twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She has led a very useful and active life, not until this winter had she become feeble. The remains will be taken to Chicago for burial beside her husband in Rosehill Cemetery.
